Science-based targets provide companies with a clearly defined pathway on how much and how quickly they need to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Under this scheme, we’re on our way to reducing our Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 46% by 2030 (from our 2019 base year). We also commit to encouraging 50% of our key product suppliers to sign up to SBTi by 2025. Engaging with our partners and suppliers to get them to adopt SBTi is critical if we are to reduce the emissions of the entire supply chain. Alongside our ‘big picture’ commitments, which included moving to 100% renewable energy in 2021, changing to LED lighting, and moving our fleet over to electric or hybrid, we’ve also worked on the smaller areas, which include adjusting automatic light settings and using mini PCs and we continue to work on the smaller areas that all help us to achieve our commitment. Another project is the wildlife haven at our head offices. We’ve taken a piece of unused land covered in a beautiful stretch of woodland to create a sanctuary for plants and wildlife, as well as a peaceful place for the mental health and wellbeing of our employees.
