This year we bring you many new and exciting card, wrap and gift designs for Christmas. Our Christmas Relations card range has doubled and we have increased the number of boxed cards as well as introducing a themed stand of festive gift packaging to include gift and bottle bags together with tissue packs. Alongside our best-selling designs, there are over 100 brand new designs of Christmas cards and gift wrap. We are excited to introduce our new range of novelty socks, Sock it to 'em!, with best-selling designs featuring fun and humorous captions. Our jigsaw collection has expanded for 2023 too, with 40 fabulous new designs across our 1000, 500 & 500XL piece formats including stunning new festive designs. If you are after something more bespoke, we offer a tailored design service for card, stationery, calendar and gift; we can make your unique design and brand come to life! As well as offering this service to retail customers, we specialise in charity cards and gifting, working closely with our charity customers and their brand message. We’re now proud to announce that we’ve signed up to Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). Under this scheme we’re on our way to reducing our Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 46% by 2030 (from our 2019 base year) and we commit to measure and reduce our Scope 3 emissions. Further to this we also commit to encouraging 50% of our key product suppliers to sign up to SBTi by 2025. This SBTi pathway will see us achieve considerable goals in reducing our impact on this world. Alongside our ‘big picture’ commitments, we’ve been making progress on our everyday product development and head office initiatives. We’re now thrilled to announce that the majority of our calendar range has plastic-free packaging. You’ll see less glitter and foil on our everyday cards, see less shrink-wrap in our stationery ranges, and enjoy improved plastic-free packaging on our stationery and gift packaging ranges. Our spring season card ranges are now packaged without plastic and more of our display stands have moved to recyclable cardboard options. In our head offices we’ve made huge strides in our working processes, removing the need for printed paper by welcoming advanced digital processes and embraced more eco-friendly packing materials in our warehouse. Another project we’ve kicked off this year is the wildlife haven at our head offices. Over a three-day weekend of long and hard work, we’ve taken a piece of unused land and a beautiful area of woodland, and started creating a sanctuary for plants, wildlife and employees. We’ve been clearing brambles, digging a pond, developing paths, building a bridge and even creating composting bins to support the waste reduction initiatives we have in our offices. In spring, we’ll be sowing, planting, nurturing and tending to wildflower meadows, a mini orchard, a natural pond, and a sun-drenched woodland clearing peppered with butterflies, birds, bees and dragonflies. We can’t wait to see this haven grow and develop over the coming years. Thank you for your support of Otter House and our goals in being an environmentally responsible company.
